So this morning, at about 6.33, Pat came into my room to borrow my headphones.  I heard him come in, and I heard him set something down.  I was convinced he found my camera and was putting it in my room.  I opened my eyes,  and through the not-quite-awake glaze, I looked around, ready to spot the red camera.

It wasn’t there.  I almost cried, but I lay back down, and fell asleep.

At 7.48 Pat came in again.  Just the sound of my door opening was enough to wake me up.

“Cass,” he says. “I’ve got a surprise for you.”

I get instantly excited.

“Did you find my camera?”

“Yes, but that’s not the surprise.  I was out looking at the kitties…” I expect him to tell me that there’s a new one, because last night, a little orange one showed up.  I nod, not quite expecting what he is going to say next.

“There’s five of them.”

WHAT!?  I throw the covers off of me, even though I’m still tired, and jump out of bed.  I demand that he show me, and we both go out to look at the babies.  There are indeed five of them; two little grey ones, one little tabby one, one orange one, and my tiny little baby, Addie.

I won’t go on and on, but Addie is the only girl, which is a shame, because I wanted to name one Laura.  I cuddle two or three at one time, then switch out, eager to pet and tame each tiny, fuzzy baby.

And because my camera came back, I can show you how cute they all are! This is my sweet little girl, Addison.

Although I was completely happy to have my camera back, Salem wasn’t.  He seems to think that when I take photos of him, he’s in trouble.

Then after I took the obvious pictures, I headed out to find the poppies.

(Which were dead.)  I also took pictures of the amazing, cloudless blue sky, and the lush, verdant landscape.

And, yesterday, while out for lunch, Astrid and I stopped in at a bookstore, because I was trying to find “Pride and Predjudice”.  I didn’t find it, but I found something that made me so happy I wanted to dance.  I found four (FOUR!) Clan of the Cave Bear books, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.  Two of them were hardcovers, and I got all four of them for under $20!  From the last post, you know how much I’m obsessed with Jean M. Auel, and I’m so excited that I own most of the series!  It was a good deal, a very good deal.  Fate, in fact, was definitely in play in that bookshop.

I’m pretty sure all the pictures of this post made up for the lack of pictures in all the other ones.  Me?  I’m just happy to have my camera back.
