The Unveiling of My New Tattoo

Wow!  The past couple of days have been really long.  Unending, it seems.

I worked the whole weekend at the ranch, and Monday too.  Beth needed someone to pick her up at the airport, so that was me.  I forgot how long the drive to Rapid is.  The next day, I went to Spearfish, to help Betsy with her new computer, and then stopped into Aasylum.  I couldn’t remember if AJ (my tattoo guy) left on Tuesday or Thursday, but I was hoping the entire time while working on the computer, and eating, that he left on Thursday.
When I popped my head in, he was there!  So I got my tattoo yesterday.  Erica joined me, and also got a tattoo.  I left before hers was done, so I’m anxious to see it.  She was about 45 minutes into hers when I started, and mine only took MAYBE 10 minutes.  Getting my star fixed hurt so much more than my other tattoo.  But I’m happy with both of them, and I’m glad I decided to get them done yesterday, so they’ll be healed before Florida.

Also, I got some yarn yesterday while I was in Spearfish, killing time before my tattoo appointment.  I found the cutest summer colors in Lily Sugar ‘n Cream worsted weight cotton.  I want to maybe make a baby hat for Kim’s new baby, because one of the colorways I picked out (“Sunny Sky”) is a summer-y baby color.  I also got around to photographing my Knit Picks yarn (Wool of the Andes, “Williamsburg”) for my scarf.  I have a lot of knitting to do.  I can’t wait.

(Left to Right Colorways: “Over the Rainbow”, “Key Lime Pie”, and “Sunny Sky”.)

I also started on “The Shelters of Stone”.  I finished “The Plains of Passage” a few days ago while I was at work.  “Eat, Pray, Love” is still sitting, waiting to be read with a bookmark stuck at Part Two.  I’m probably going to be reading it on the plane when I go to Naperville, or Florida.

Oh, and with the money I didn’t spend yesterday, my college fund got a little fatter.

They itch.

Curly Q

I had a wonderful morning this morning; playing with the kitties, eating some oatmeal, and taking pictures with my hair that I had curled, because I didn’t have anything more pressing than being girly.  (I uploaded most of the pictures I took to my flickr if you were curious).

While I was in Hulett, dropping Pat off at work, I picked up the mail and was delighted to find that the book I had ordered from amazon (One Fifth Avenue) had finally arrived!  I also stopped in at the library and picked up another book, although I have so many to read now.  The book I picked up was “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert.  I’d been hearing about the movie coming out, and was always a little curious when I would read about celebs seen carrying it around and whatnot.  When I was on the lunch date with Astrid, we stopped in at Wal-Mart afterward, and I saw it in the book section and read the back.  It hooked me, but I didn’t want to buy the book.  Whenever I’m in a library or bookstore, I have to get something.  It doesn’t matter what’s at home, or what’s checked out, or that I have no money to speak of, and I shouldn’t be spending it on books when I have to pay for COLLEGE in a month or so: I HAVE TO GET SOMETHING.  Which is why when I thought of books, I thought of “Eat, Pray, Love”.  I haven’t started it, but I’m excited.  I want to sit outside and read it, with sunshine on the pages and prickly green grass under my toes.

The next on my list, after “Eat, Pray, Love”, “The Mammoth Hunters”, and “One Fifth Avenue” (or in between the last two…)?  “Committed“… Or maybe, all of her novels…

Computer Dreams, and Broken Arms…

Because of a change in plans (i.e. broken bones), my Tuesday will not be spent half in bed, half on the computer, eating the entire time, and then going to a movie with a friend.  It will be spent at the ranch, hanging out with Sam and his poor, broken arm.
Although that’s not entirely a bad thing.  My college fund is looking a little dry still.

I can spend some of the morning online, eating delicious fresh fruit…I’ll also be searching online for a computer for college, any suggestions?  I don’t want to spend a whole lot on it (you know, I still have tuition and a plane ticket to pay for…maybe I should add a computer fund and a ticket fund…) but I want it to have a nice webcam, and above all else, I want a number pad. On the side.  Separate.

Also, today seems like a good time to tell you that giveaways are in the near future.  I’ll have some summer giveaways that you won’t want to miss, because the first will be some awesome handmade jewelry.  My aunt on Etsy is donating some of her gorgeous pieces, so stick around to see which ones will grace your neck someday! :)
